THE STUDIO
OPUS 356 is the evolution of Boris Mathias’ design vision — a studio dedicated to shaping sophisticated spatial experiences across luxury residential and hospitality projects, guided by a refined sense of proportion, atmosphere, and intent.
From this foundation, the practice originates from Chapi Chapo Design, founded in 2011, where Boris first developed a distinctive approach to interiors rooted in precision, character, and timeless design values.
Over time, this initial practice has evolved into OPUS 356 — a more distilled and expanded expression of the same creative ethos, shaped by experience and a continuous pursuit of refinement.
Today, OPUS 356 defines a living luxury language where hospitality and high-end residential design merge through clarity, narrative, and spatial precision, creating unified environments shaped by architecture, interiors, and atmosphere as one cohesive whole.
THE NAME
Opus speaks to the art of creation at its highest level, the pursuit of a signature work, crafted with vision and virtuosity, destined to leave a lasting mark.
356 pays homage to a pioneering sports car, a lasting symbol of craftsmanship, elegance, and innovation, and a reflection of Boris’s passion for speed, precision, and adrenaline.
More than a new name, Opus 356 represents a studio in motion, firmly rooted in its founder’s vision, driven by a commitment to excellence, and always pushing the boundaries of what thoughtful design can achieve.
MEET BORIS MATHIAS
Born and raised in Paris, Boris Mathias is an architectural and interior designer with over 20 years of international experience across North America, Europe, The Caribbean, the Middle East, and Asia.
He studied architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais (DPLG), where he trained as an architect in France.
He began his career working on luxury retail and architectural projects for international brands including LVMH, Lancôme, Givenchy, and L’Oréal, developing a strong understanding of high-end brand environments and spatial storytelling.
In 2004, he joined a leading design practice in Toronto, where he led multidisciplinary teams on large-scale hospitality and residential projects across international markets.
His work spans hospitality, high-end residential, and commercial environments, with a focus on precision, spatial clarity, and experience-driven design.
